Once upon a time, the librarians at Queen's gathered for a seminar on writing for publication. On a grey day, in Queen's Bracken Library, these librarians assembled themselves with coffee and baked goods (a tradition at Queen's) to discuss articles they had written, journals they had submitted papers to, and ideas for articles generally.

Originally, the idea had been to do a Working Paper and Occasional Paper series, but then someone said, "Why think small?" "Why not put together our own journal?" Names for the publication were debated and the scope of the journal was explored. The feeling at the table was that it should be inclusive, it should belong to all librarians and archivists, and any good idea should be welcome.

The enthusiasm generated by the project has been immense. At last--an online journal for every type of library and archive in Canada and beyond. A place to send articles, notes, ideas, reviews and anything else that tickles people's fancy. We can't wait to hear from you!
